Tele Lens for Nikon D50 “Nikon 55-200mm F/4~5.6G AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor”

I have got a new lens for my Nikon D50 D-SLR camera.

I did look at non-Nikon lenses that were around the same price point, but decided to go for the Nikon in the end. The lens I bought is a:
Nikon 55-200mm F/4~5.6G AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor

This compliments the lens which comes with the camera which goes from 18-55mm, and this one continues from 55mm to 200mm.

The problem with the other makes of lenses is that the ones that are around the same price did not send the distance information back to the camera, so wouldn’t be able to auto-zoom the flash.

This isn’t the best lens in the world, but considering it’s price it does what I want. Maybe one day I will be able to afford spending thousands of pounds on a lens, but that’s certainly not know.

I found the cheapest price using: uk.bizrate.com (price finding service) which gave purelygadgets.co.uk as the cheapest. The price was the same as available at some other websites (considerably cheaper than some others), but as the purelygadgets website showed that the lens was in stock I ordered from there, rather than risk ordering something that was out of stock.

I haven’t had much chance to use it yet, but I’ll post some photos as I get time.
