Recycle Ink Catridges – Send a Cow

I recently bought some more ink for my printer (Canon Pixma IP4200 Inkjet Printer).

The ink cartridges have arrived, and as expected it includes a pre-paid returns envelope to send back any empty cartridges. The surprising thing was the charity that benefits from the returned ink cartridges. The charity that they support is Send a Cow!

The Send a Cow charity helps poor farmers by providing cows and other livestock as well as training and lost cost vetinary[sic] and advice services. It’s not just cows, but also goats, bees, apples, pigs, chickens and fish.

As well as sounding a novel idea, it also sounds like a good way of helping those in poorer countries. Rather than providing aid or food for the short term, it provide livestock to help them in the long term.

I don’t know how good the recycled ink cartridges are, as I buy the original Canon ink, both for their matched print quality, and their long lasting ChromaLife policy.

Visit the Send a Cow website for more ways to help.
