Evesham Vale Light Railway – family day out
Evesham Vale Light Railway is a small (15 inch gauge) railway in Evesham Country Park Worcestershire.
The trains run most weekends, bank holidays and during school holidays, but if going to visit the railway then check the Evesham Vale Light Railway website before travelling.
There are two stations. The main station is by the main car park which includes the ticket office, the second is further inside the country park. You can purchase a one-way ticket and walk back, or get a round trip. When the train reaches the second station it stays for a few minutes to allow you to take in the view, before returning. Alternatively it’s approximately 20 minutes between trains so you can explore the area around the second station or make use of the picnic benches before catching a return train.
Also at the country park there is an animal sanctuary and some shops including Millets Farm Shop, Evesham Garden Centre and a few clothing / outdoor outlet shops.
